Rhyme within a hook or the second line of a rhyme couplet. Extend the second line to build anticipation. Write the second lines first. Use vowel rhymes. Use different rhyme schemes for verse and chorus. Place priority on the lyric and not the rhyme. Don’t keep a lyric to make a rhyme. Most songs use perfect vowel rhymes and a combination of perfect and imperfect consonant rhymes.
